To some people, jumping out of a plane seems crazy, dangerous, and scary. For others, it can be the thrill of a lifetime. Once you find yourself plummeting toward the earth, you are suddenly overcome by a feeling of peace as you enjoy the view from above. If you’re adventurous and this sounds like something you’d be interested in, why not consider taking sport parachuting lessons?

At Parachuting.com, we offer the most comprehensive classes to prepare you for the most exciting solo skydiving experiences. Sure, you can do Tandem jumps with the help of a certified professional, but any experienced skydiver will tell you it’s just not the same as when you freefall all on your own. The Levels of the Accelerated Freefall Course

The Levels of the Accelerated Freefall Course

Level One

Level One will teach you everything you need to know about the basics, and is mostly conducted from the safety of the ground. You’ll learn how to pull your parachute, all about basic safety procedures, how to communicate with your instructors mid-fall, and how to position your body as you fall.

Once you’ve covered the basics, you’ll go out for a 14,000-foot fall. Though your instructor won’t be harnessed to you, they will hold on to you while you fall, teaching you all of the best parachuting techniques. You’ll both use hand signals and radios for communication.

Level Two

Next, you will be ready for Level Two. In this level, you’ll learn how to move and position your body to ensure the safest freefall experience. It’s incredibly important to know how to keep your body stable as you fall since it’s the foundation of parachuting. You’ll cover all the techniques on the ground before you try it out for yourself in the air.

Once you get into the air, you’ll be able to put your newfound knowledge into practice. With the guidance of your instructors, you’ll get the hang of adjusting your body weight in the air in no time.

Level Three

Level Three is an extension of Level Two, but more advanced, as you’ll continue to learn how to position your body in the air. More than just keeping your body stable during a freefall, you’ll learn how to dive headfirst and slow yourself down. You’ll also learn how to make sudden turns to change direction.

Of course, your instructor will communicate with you via radio to assess your performance and help you succeed.

Level Four

Level Four is all about integrating everything you’ve learned about parachuting so far. If you and your instructors feel confident in your abilities and parachuting knowledge, you may be able to make your first non-radio-assisted landing. Now is a great time to review all you’ve learned.

Level Five

Only one instructor will be helping you through Level Five, but they will be there to guide you during the entire jump. The instructor will review body positioning and maneuvering to make sure you really know what you’re doing. Then, they can pinpoint specific things you need to work on before you complete the course.

Level Six

Level Six is simply a repeat of everything you went over in Level Five. This allows your instructor to see that you’ve made progress from your last jump. Your instructor will carefully inspect every aspect of your parachuting freefall, canopy ride, and landing. Everything that you have learned up until this point will be crucial to remember!

You’re almost done getting your certification now! Just one more level until you can call yourself a pro.

Level Seven

This is it! Level Seven. All you need to do now is show your instructor that you feel comfortable jumping on your own. You’ll exit the aircraft, complete a few required maneuvers, and let your instructor know when you’re about to open your parachute.

When you land, you’ll be a certified skydiver! Time to celebrate. Completing a parachuting course isn’t something everyone can say they’ve done. Won’t it feel good to know that you overcame your fears and embraced adventure?

You don’t have to wonder what it would be like. You can be a certified skydiver in no time!
