From Mountains to Landmarks, Riverside is Best from Above
You might think you know Riverside, but you won’t even imagine what you’ll learn about this city when you’re free falling above it. Why wouldn’t you get the best view of Mount Rubidoux that’s possible when gliding in range of it from a parachute? Let us not forget some of the best quirks of Riverside, aside from the amazing scenery. Get your fill of the “World’s Largest Paper Cup” when you catch sight of seeing Riverside’s famous, three-story Dixie cup. You can’t forget that you might to get an aerial view of one of the most famous hotels in the country, the Mission Inn. It’s architecture is even more admirable from the skies. Maybe you’ll even be lucky enough to see what could be the source of the orange juice you drink today when you fall witness to the original navel tree that jumpstarted the citrus industry in 1874.
Tandem Jumps, for First-Timers and View Admirers
There are many reason why tandem jumps are among the most popular choices for our first-time skydivers. First of all, it is the option where people feel most safe. When partaking in a tandem jump, you’re harnessed to an instructor certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This instructor is beyond passionate about what they do, and they’re going to make sure you have the chance to fall in love with the sport the same way they did. They will worry about the hairy details of a jump and make sure you learn the ropes, too. You’ll get all the first hand advice on exactly how to exit a plane in a free fall. From there, you’ll see what it looks like to be piloting your parachute through the skies until the rewarding landing itself. Your instructor will be with you every step of the way.
We have a very thorough process to prepare you for your tandem skydive. Skydiving is more than just a thrill, it takes some preparation. We’ll have you come in an hour or so before your scheduled jump time so we can brief you and set a spot where your family and friends can wait for you when you land. This is also when you’ll get the chance to meet your super helpful instructor. Your instructor will break down everything you need to know to prepare for your dive. After your prep, we’ll get you suited up in your gear just before you board the plane with your instructor. Once you reach the jump height of 10,000 feet or more, your instructor will harness you both together at four points of your body to ensure your safety (two at the shoulders and two at the hips). You’ll free fall for 30 seconds, give or take, more than likely falling at up to 120 mph! You won’t start to use your parachute until you’re about 5,500-6,000 AGL, and it’s smooth sailing from there. Because of these speeds and elevation, you’ll be locked and loaded with a steady set of goggles your secure harness. While you’re jumping, we’ve got the coolest drop zones for friends and family to wait. Here they can buy a lunch and relax in any of our indoor/outdoor seating options.
Skydiving As a Recreational Sport:
Sure, for beginners it would seem that skydiving is simply something to do just to ‘say you’ve done it.’ Whether you’re doing it for the story or as a profession, there are many different dimensions of skydiving that are noteworthy. Have you ever gone surfing at the beach or snowboarding in the winter? Maybe you’ve given these sports a chance, but imagine skysurfing. Yes, skysurfing is a thing, and it takes some crazy-skilled professionals to rock gymnastics type moves in our skies. They ride a board similar to a skateboard or snowboard but ride the wind as if they’re atop a California wave. Or have you ever heard of indoor skydiving? Yes, that’s a thing too! With technology and some heavy duty fans, we can recreate the feeling of being thousands of feet in the sky all under one roof. Indoor skydiving is a great way to practice the sport and perfect skills or just get that exhilarating free fall feeling. You can get even more creative with B.A.S.E. jumping, an acronym for “building, antenna, span, and Earth.” BASE jumping is the most extreme form of jumping because it’s somewhat unmonitored. BASE jumping can be from the side of a cliff, buildings, antenna towers, or without limits or regulations to their jumps. Jumping from a plane is only the beginning.

You’re Never Too Cool For School
School is cool when you’re a student at our skydiving academy. If you want to become a certified professional or you just want to skydive solo, we offer two different tracks: Accelerated Free Fall (AFF) and Static Line Progression.
How We Help
We’ve got a staff of FAA certified professionals who execute a thorough training program to ensure the best skydiving education possible. Your lessons are catered to your learning process and designed to accurately assist your progression from newbie to professional.
The Two Different Options for You:
- Accelerated Free Fall (AFF): This is for those who can’t wait to wrap up the learning process and be able to fall freely at their own accord. This form of training involves seven levels, and although the student will be jumping alongside an instructor, they’ll be jumping totally alone sooner than later.
- Your First Free Fall in AFF: You’ll jump alongside two experienced AFF instructors between 10,000-12,000 AGL. Instructors will keep in contact with you via Harness Holding Training (HHT). They’ll help you deploy, but after that, you’re on your own, experiencing 50 seconds or more of free falling!
- Lucky 7 Levels: In the first three levels of your training, instructors brief you on altitude awareness, chute deployment, etc. The third level is where you’ll free fall entirely by yourself! In your final levels, you can start performing superhero style stunts. We’ll film your jumps to help you perfect your training for the next level and make sure you’ve totally nailed each level.
- Static Line Progression (S/L progression): S/L progression is named after the ‘static line’ between the student and the plane. This line tightens as the student jumps, from around 3,000 Above Ground Level (AGL), deploying the student’s canopy.
The Colorful Characters of Skydiving
The beauty of professional skydivers is that there isn’t a rigid archetype of what they look like, where they’re from, or what else they’ve done for a living. Skydivers are bound by their spirit, and your spirit can’t be put into a box. Take smokejumpers, for example. Smokejumpers are the coolest form of firefighters you’ll ever see, deploying their canopies over raging wildfires to diminish the damage and save lives. There are more ways than one that skydivers can be superheroes, replacing capes with canopies. There are also such a thing as pararescuers, a rescue squad that is a division in the U.S. Air Force. These brave guys or gals free fall for more than just a thrill when they are landing in obscure, dangerous areas to save the lives of others. There are also teams of people who make all this stuff possible, like a professional packer/rigger. This person is a master down to the fabrics of parachutes and is trained to repair, maintain, pack, you-name-it as long as it involves a parachute. There really is no limit to what you can do in pursuing skydiving professionally, whether you want to be a soaring superhero or training the next group of great divers, the choice is all yours.

Make Memories to Take Home
You simply can’t skydive and not show everyone how bold and daring you were. We have two options to help you make this happen. You can either purchase our videography option or out GoPro option. For the first option, a camera flyer can hop out of the plane with you whereas the GoPro/Handycam option will be a camera attached to your instructor for those up close and personal angles.
There’s More than Meets the Camera:
When you choose for the camera flyer to shoot your whole jump, it’s a bit more pricey. You’re paying for the flyer themselves, and it’s also shot documentary style. The camera flyer will document your thoughts before and after the jump. Both options will catch every intoxicating moment, from your initial fear to your “oh yeah!” moments, everything will be on camera and edited so that it’s set to music and even cooler to watch. We’ll give you a CD of the footage so you can email, Instagram, Facebook, or share in any form of your choosing. The moment is fun, but also fleeting, so it’s really important you get that footage to relive every moment of your jump. The pure, raw feelings will be very hard to imitate, so the best you can do is watch them again when you’re feeling nostalgic or searching for a little inspiration.
If you thought the job of a skydiving instructor was exciting, just imagine the job of the camera flyer. This skilled diver has gone through all the expansive training as your skydiving instructor but has gone above and beyond with mastering a camera all the while. These professionals have to undergo twice the amount of practice jumps than a traditional instructor, completing the initial required jumps then yet another set of jumps with their camera in tow. They need specific helmets and cameras, and they don’t just press ‘record’ and relax. They capture the best moments and the surroundings, they even film you before you’ve left the ground. Camera flyers are artists. It’s their job to create a story and make your story as best as possible. They’re piecing together your fear, excitement, anxiety, relief, your flood of emotions, and juxtaposing it against your journey through the clouds. This is both a creative piece for these talented videographers just as much as it’s a personal narrative for you, and if you ask me, that’s an impressive combination. When camera flyers aren’t working on your personal DVD, they’re also simply filming to document the profound phenomenon of skydiving. Camera flyers often catch shots of divers from above, truly drawing attention to the wonder of a human body challenging the laws of nature. Skydiving pushes the limits that are enforced by nature, and the camera flyer has an important job in recording this awe-inspiring occurrence.
